Foreword by Lady Jakobovits

I feel very humble to have been asked by Aubrey to contribute a foreword to Letters to my Wife.

Rarely, if ever does one get the opportunity to peep into another human being's deepest emotions. Aubrey, with his typical generosity of mind and heart gives us this opportunity. Sheila and Aubrey were the epitome of a perfect marriage, partnership and friendship.

Oh how wonderful it would be, would it not, if we could turn back and reconstruct a world in which every couple would be such role models. As I read this moving book the following thoughts came into my mind and heart.

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
